"Rufus can make bootable usb for downloading windows 11 on unsupported couputers." - This even more so. Trying to run Win11 on an unsupported machine will just lead to much - And no benefit. Win11 is pretty much Win10 with more security. Personally... Don't bother with Win11 until you have the new hardware that actually requires Win11.

Install USB created with W10 22H2 creation tool will not boot even after validating and running the tool as admin. Several different USB stick were tried including brand new Samsung FIT. I think I did. Used the RUFUS instructions in this forum. Anyway was able to get a image download of my original system online and made a USB stick per MS directions. Eventually was able to install Windows 8 with all the drivers. Then updated to WIN 10. Deleting old files as there was a pile of them hogging the drive.
If you have a volume license contract, you should be able to go to the Volume License Service Center and download the ISO file for Windows 10 Enterprise and make a bootable copy using Rufus.
I used Rufus (version 3.13.1730) to burn the ISO onto my USB. Partition Scheme: GPT. Target System: UEFI. File System: NTFS **I changed the boot order to boot from USB First. In the BIOS, I disabled "Secure Boot" and I checked that "Legacy Support" was also disabled (so that it would boot in UEFI). I plugged in the USB and restarted the laptop.
I am far from expert but, I have tried to use Rufus to install onto a flash drive a Windows10 iso file. Everything seemed to be ok until the very, very end when I had a message on the screen saying that I was missing an app to complete. I only remember something about ,Source.install.esd'. I did not know what t do and so I installed 'esd'.
With Windows 11, we were instructed to use GPT/UEFI when using Rufus to create a Windows 11 Insider ISO. Rufus has changed their policy and in order to use the newly created ISO states that Secure Boot must be disabled. Can Microsoft offer any help here? FAQ · pbatard/rufus Wiki · GitHub.
