Opened in May 2001 in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, Dolly's Splash Country is an addition to the Dollywood Company's theme park. The park is built into the natural terrain of a 25-acre mountainous area adjacent to the main Dollywood theme park. The park was a $20 million investment ($34.4 million in 2023 dollars) by the Dollywood Company.
The theme park is the anchor of Parton's 150-acre (61 ha) Dollywood amusement destination, which also includes the 35-acre (14 ha) sister water park Dollywood's Splash Country, the 20-acre (8.1 ha) Dollywood's DreamMore Resort and Spa, [3] and the 5-acre (2.0 ha) Dolly Parton's Stampede Dinner Attraction.
