Ziddan Jan 27, 2018 @ 5:56am. Dont think theres a built in feature to do so. You would hear yourself someone is using stereo mix for their recording input and loops the sound back at you. When you open the menu you have a mic volume slider on the left, above the mute button, maybe find a friendly player and ask them to report what happens when ...

Plus I noticed that I cannot test my mic on TF2 either, and I join alot of servers, so it can't be the server disabling it. I need help on this. FYI, my mic is set as the "Default Device" & "Default Communication Device" and all other playback/recording devices have been disabled.
Default value: 1. Controls the scale of the voice-chat ingame, now this one is something you probably shouldn't touch. Scaling the voice-chat anything past 1 just worsens the quality and intruduces peaks & overcontrolling. Lowering might not help as well.
Voice chat not working on GMOD! So when join a server, I use the voice chat key (it's set to x) and it doesn't work! I changed the mic setting in Steam AND Gmod. It's so annoying. I've tried using my headphone mic and computer mic. I am running Windows 10. I have 2GB (but gmod runs fine) and I have an external hard drive.
