We often calculate the amount of days between two dates for calculating interest (=DAYS(A22,A21) OR =A22-A21), but if there's no date in the cell below (i.e. the end date) it will show as a negative number (see image). I guess we would need the formula to assume if the cell is blank that it's...

Originally, I was used the DATEDIF function to calculate the difference between two dates - for example: =DATEDIF (E2,E3,"d") The problem is that if both E2 and E3 are blank, Excel returns a result of 0 instead of just leaving the cell blank. This is a problem because ultimately I want to calculate the average of the days elapsed between pairs ...

  6. Average # of days between multiple dates? - MrExcel

    www.mrexcel.com/board/threads/average-of-days-between-multiple-dates.937725

There are nine (9) days "between" Apr 12 and Apr 21. There are six (6) days between the 21st and 27th. So Excel would have a single cell somewhere on the worksheet that would read: 7.5 days. (9+6=15; 15/2=7.5) It would be great to do it without "hidden" rows/columns, but I am not opposed to that.

I put 41925 in one cell and 41760 in one underneath it. I then dragged the numbers into three columns in total. I left the first one formatted as numbers, the second one as a Gregorian date and the third as a Hijri date. =DATEDIF (B5,B4,"d") works on all of them and gives the same answer.

Calculate number of days between two dates when one is created by another formula. I'm using a 2010 version of Excel (Don't judge!) and it does not have DATEIF as one of its functions. I know that I use: =INT (YEARFRAC (D2,TODAY ()))&"...

to return the number of days. However, because sometimes d2 is greater than e2, I was getting a #NUM! error, so I changed the formula to. Code: =IF(E2>D2,"-"&DATEDIF(D2,E2,"d"),(DATEDIF(E2,D2,"d"))) which gave me a fudged negative (-) sign in front of values where d2 was the greater of the two dates. Unfortunately this means that I can't do any ...

  10. Deal With Dates Before 1900 - Excel Tips - MrExcel Publishing

    www.mrexcel.com/excel-tips/deal-with-dates-before-1900

If your date is after 1900, Excel automatically converts the date to a date serial number. If the date is before 1900, Excel stores the date as text. If the cell contains a real date, you want to add 1,000 years. An easy way to do this is to use the EDATE function and add 12,000 months to the date. =EDATE(A4,12000) returns a date that is 1,000 ...
